Meet SWA Founder Holly Beck
Meet the Amigas
•
29m
Holly grew up the oldest of five sisters with a mother that believed in traditional gender roles. A "repressed tomboy", she eventually got a surfboard and wetsuit and never looked back. Holly shares stories of her path to being a pro surfer, a bit about what that life was like, how she transitioned to living in Central America, and founded Surf With Amigas. Family needs eventually brought her back to CA for a couple of years where she completed a Master's in counseling, becoming a surf therapist. She talks about her theory of counseling and how she plans to incorporate surf therapy into retreats as she finally gets to move back to Costa Rica.
