The Story of Seea: A Women’s Surf Fashion and Culture Revolution
1h 2m
Born from a dream and a thrifted sewing machine in San Clemente, California, the women’s surfing apparel brand Seea was formed. In this episode, Holly chats with Seea founder Amanda Chinchelli about the brand's creation, production, philosophy and goals. We chat about Amanda’s unique surf upbringing in Italy and her ultimate exposure to the California surf lifestyle, from San Francisco to San Clemente. When she moved to San Clemente she realized she was ready to connect her loves of fashion, production and surfing. She noticed a need in the market for cute, functional women’s surf suits that fit the longboard aesthetic. Slowly but surely her new hobby turned into a full blown business. She believes the way you surf is a reflection of your personality and soul, and that it is our responsibility to decide what beauty is and how it is portrayed in the media.
