Growing up in rural Indonesia, Sofie didn't see the ocean until she was eight years old. Later in life when she moved to Bali for work and saw surfers for the very first time, she tried it out and quickly fell in love. Overcoming traditional beliefs as an Indonesia female surfer, she now coaches with passion and hopes to inspire other Indonesia women to join her in the ocean.
